Multiple people hospitalized in I-30 crash of inmate transport van and pickup in Arlington

Multiple people were taken to local hospitals Tuesday morning after a crash involving a van and a pickup truck on Interstate 30 in Arlington, police said.

The van belongs to the Dallas County Sheriff’s Office and was transporting inmates when it became involved in the accident on eastbound I-30 near Six Flags Drive, the Sheriff’s Office said.

Investigators believe the pickup switched lanes in front of the van and then came to an abrupt stop, police said. It appears the driver of the van tried to brake, but ended up rear-ending the pickup…
