North Texas man arrested and charged with arson after lighting his own residence on fire, officials say

DALLAS — Police arrested and charged a man with setting fire to the apartment complex he lived in, officials say.

According to Dallas Fire-Rescue, 51-year-old Zerick Lamon Jones intentionally set a fire at the Koko Apartments at 2209 Empire Central Place. Jones was a resident at the complex, per DFR.

The department said fire crews responded to the fire around noon Sunday and immediately deployed hand lines to extinguish a fire on the second floor. After an hour, crews declared the fire out, but seven other apartments sustained smoke and/or water damage, DFR said…
