DALLAS, Texas — Corey Wilson, a 20-year-old from Dallas, was convicted on Thursday for possession of an unregistered machinegun, according to Acting United States Attorney for the Northern District of Texas Chad E. Meacham. The conviction stems from incidents on May 30 and June 6, 2023, where Wilson sold machinegun conversion devices to undercover agents.
Wilson advertised the devices, which convert AR-platform firearms to fully automatic, on Instagram, asking $150 each despite their low production cost. Undercover agents from the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, & Explosives (ATF) purchased six devices on May 30 and twenty on June 6, 2023, in Northeast Dallas, according to the ATF’s Dallas Field Division.
