Safety concerns as Aurora’s self-driving trucks hit Texas highways

HOUSTON ( KIAH ) — The safety of Aurora’s self-driving trucks is in question as the company prepares to launch them on Texas highways.

As the developer of self-driving vehicles, Aurora has released a report about safety. The report, issued as part of a news release , details safety engineering, cybersecurity, and risk management.

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration has published safety guidelines that outline 12 safety features. These safety elements cover system safety, detection of objects and events, driver interfaces, accident readiness, and compliance with federal, state, and local laws.
