GARLAND, Texas — Garland city officials are set to make a decision that could significantly transform a portion of the city’s downtown square, as they consider selling a vacant storefront property for less than half of what they paid for it less than two years ago.
In 2023, the City of Garland bought a vacant storefront for nearly $2 million. The city council will vote Tuesday night on whether to sell this property for $740,000 and provide additional financial incentives to the new owner, who plans to develop a 13,000-square-foot ice-house style restaurant on the site.
