SACRAMENTO — California’s high-speed rail project is rapidly advancing, while Texas’ remains stalled on the drawing board, Governor Gavin Newsom’s office stated in a snub to the Lone Star State.
Since 2013, the Golden State has transformed its vision into reality, constructing 119 miles of track and completing 52 major structures, according to the Office of Governor Gavin Newsom.
Stretching 494 miles from San Francisco to Los Angeles via the Central Valley, California’s system has already created over 15,000 jobs and generated nearly $22 billion in economic output. In contrast, Texas Central’s proposed 240-mile route between Dallas and Houston has yet to break ground.…
