A few weeks ago, I wrote a column with the straightforward headline “Dallas Restaurants Are Too Big.” The column started a conversation among food industry folks around town that’s still ongoing.
This week brought great news. Dallas’ City Council, responding to years of research and feedback, just removed one of the biggest hurdles to opening new small, independent, interesting restaurants. It’s a hurdle I didn’t even mention in my column but one that has done damage to small local businesses for years.
Last night I got an email from reader Kirk Presley about the huge boost that Dallas leaders just gave our bar and restaurant business.
