A 23-year-old man is in custody following two armed home invasions and shootings that occurred on the evening of June 14, 2025, in Morris County.
Around 6:50 p.m., Morris County Dispatch received multiple 911 calls reporting shootings at two separate locations on County Road 2115 and County Road 2102. The victims described the suspect as a slender Black male wearing black clothing and armed with a firearm.
According to authorities, the suspect, identified as Makhei N. Aguilar of Hughes Springs, first approached a home on County Road 2115 and demanded a vehicle. When the homeowner refused, Aguilar fired several shots into the residence. He then proceeded to a second home on County Road 2102, where he again demanded vehicle keys. Shots were exchanged between Aguilar and the homeowner during this encounter. A female victim at the second residence was struck in the leg but sustained non-life-threatening injuries…
