If you shut down a major bridge in a metropolitan area for a music video, it better be good.
That’s how people in Dallas are feeling after they found out that their commute home on Tuesday was lengthened because Shaboozey had rented out the Margaret Hunt Hill Bridge during the middle of rush hour. Why? He and rapper BixXthaPlug were shooting a music video for a new collaboration that the two artists apparently have coming out soon.
If you’re like me, I had no idea you could just… rent a bridge. But it’s apparently a real thing, and this specific incident was reportedly “permitted through the Office of Special Events” in Dallas, Texas. The music video shut down one entire side of the heavily-traveled bridge that connects the western part of the city to central Dallas. Of course, it’s not uncommon to shut down a street for a movie or television show, but they generally try to do it during non-peak hours… not rush hour in a city where traffic already is a nightmare…
