Full City Rooster was featured on Good Morning America today as part of their week-long series, “What Fills Your Cup.” The crew at GMA was inspired by the cafe’s local ties and community vibe, which we already knew all about, as demonstrated just a few months ago in our article, “Full City Rooster Coffee Roasting Studio Preserved Culture, Connection in South Dallas.”
Full City, which got its name after a typo (Rooster instead of Roaster, and they just went with it), opened a decade ago in the Cedars neighborhood. Spouses Michael and Chris Wyatt created this space, which has become a hub for musicians and artists who have made the neighborhood their home. Local artists’ works adorn the walls; the Wyatts collaborate with the art-focused nonprofit Cedars Open Studios.
The small batch roastery (or roostery) sources from Mexico, Guatemala and Panama, along with some special beans sourced from more obscure places, like Yemen…
