Deadly Weekend on Cedar Creek Lake: 2 Kids Lost

Two young girls have died while boating with their family over the weekend at a Central Texas lake. This was the second drowning incident that occurred that very same day due to strong winds and dangerously choppy water.

Cedar Creek Lake Tragedy

Late in the evening on June 22, a search team was deployed to Cedar Creek Lake, just southeast of Dallas, TX. Officers were responding to a boating accident where two young girls had become trapped under the capsized vessel.

The boat sank too fast for help to arrive in time, and the two girls, ages three and five , couldn’t get free from the wreck. The two drowned as a result of the devastating incident, despite both girls wearing life jackets.

Search Team was Too Late

As search teams began their efforts, they reported it was made exceptionally difficult due to the strong winds and rough water, plus this accident occurred at night, so there was little to no visibility on the water…
