Dallas firefighter’s body recovered from Lavon Lake after extensive search

DALLAS, Texas — The body of Dallas Fire-Rescue member Juan Omar Chaidez was recovered from Lavon Lake after two days of intensive search efforts, according to Dallas Fire-Rescue. Chaidez’s body surfaced near Bratonia Park just before 7 a.m.

Officer Chaidez, who served the City of Dallas for over six years, was honored by his crew as they escorted his body to the Collin County Medical Examiner’s Office.
