Dallas man accused of beating 76-year-old hospital sitter during psychiatric evaluation

DALLAS, Texas — A 30-year-old man is facing multiple felony charges after police say he violently attacked an elderly hospital sitter inside the emergency room at Baylor Scott & White in Dallas, just hours after being arrested by DART police for a separate incident.

According to an arrest affidavit, William Horoshak was brought to the hospital on June 26 for a mental health evaluation after he was arrested earlier that morning for criminal mischief.

Police say Horoshak was taken into custody at about 5 a.m. after DART officers responded to a criminal mischief call at 3422 E. Kiest Blvd. in Dallas. A DART bus driver told officers that Horoshak stepped into her lane while she was driving, forcing her to swerve.
