North Texas group calls on EPA to reimburse communities affected by environmental grant cuts

Both the city of Fort Worth and North Texas environmental advocacy group Downwinders at Risk sought federal funds from the Environmental Protection Agency to address air quality issues in the region.

Fort Worth’s grant would have addressed industrial pollution, while the advocacy group’s application aimed to bring more air quality monitors to Tarrant and Dallas counties.

But neither may see those funds after the Trump administration eliminated a $3 billion environmental grant program that would have supported their initiatives…
