Construction is moving along for the new Tom Thumb grocery store in Sunnyvale, Texas, located at the corner of Belt Line Road and East Town East Boulevard. Scheduled to open by December 2025, this project represents a significant step forward in improving grocery access for eastern Dallas County.
While the store is based in Sunnyvale, it will also serve neighboring areas like Mesquite, Balch Springs, and parts of Seagoville, where full-service supermarket options remain limited.
A Major Project for a Growing Region
The new Tom Thumb will cover approximately 58,200 square feet and offer a full-service grocery department, a drive-thru pharmacy, a Starbucks kiosk, a fuel station, and Drive-Up & Go pickup.
Groundbreaking began in November 2024, and by May 2025, satellite imagery captured major progress: foundation work was nearly complete, and structural framing was well underway.
