Stolen Dallas Car Sparks DFW High-Speed Chase, Suspect Nabbed Near Lewisville Lake

A high-speed pursuit that began in Irving and barreled into Lewisville on Sunday morning ended with the arrest of a 36-year-old suspect believed to have stolen a vehicle from Dallas. The incident, which unfolded before rush-hour traffic surged, has sparked renewed debate among North Texas residents over the risks of police chases through suburban neighborhoods.

Officers with the Irving Police Department first spotted the stolen car—reported taken from a Dallas residence—around 10:17 a.m. Sunday near the 3200 block of North Belt Line Road. When patrol units activated their lights, the driver accelerated northbound at speeds exceeding 80 mph, weaving through Beaumont Drive and onto Valley Ridge Parkway toward Lewisville.
