Operation Slowdown: Dallas police issue more than 1,750 speeding citations in 2 weeks

Even after two weeks of Operation Slowdown, NBC 5 watched on Wednesday as driver after driver took to Dallas’s streets at top speed.

“75 is no worse than 30, which is no worse than 35, which is no worse than 635. All of them are equally about the same,” said Maj. Eric Roman, commander of the Tactical Operations Division of the Dallas Police Department.

Since the initiative started on July 1, Roman said the Dallas Police Department has issued 1,752 traffic citations and 289 warnings…
