Last Tuesday, a burglary in progress call brought Dallas Police to a home on Accent Lane, where 20-year-old Zechariah Ramirez was caught packing up the homeowner’s belongings. The Dallas Police Department reported that maintenance workers interrupted Ramirez’s burglary attempt, causing him to flee on foot through the neighborhood.
Officers were quick to set up a perimeter and, despite Ramirez’s attempt to quickly escape, they managed to apprehend the suspect after a short chase. Interim Assistant Chief Richard Foy praised the work of his officers in a statement. “When out in the field, communication is key. Our officers are well-trained and well-equipped, which results in more arrests and a safer city,” Foy stated, per the Dallas Police Department.
