Man Strangled and Robbed on Maple Avenue; Two Suspects Caught with Help of Surveillance Tech

DALLAS, TX – On July 1, 2025, at approximately 1:35 a.m., Northwest Patrol officers responded to a robbery in progress in the 4800 block of Maple Avenue. The victim reported being strangled and robbed by two suspects who fled the scene with his property.

The suspects were identified as 30-year-old Whitney Morris and 45-year-old Darian Ventura. While officers were en route, detectives with the Dallas Police Fusion Unit used nearby surveillance cameras to track the suspects in real time. The detectives relayed live updates to patrol units, guiding them directly to Morris and Ventura.

Both suspects were arrested and charged with Aggravated Robbery, a first-degree felony. The victim was transported to a local hospital in stable condition…
