With loads of fundraiser appearing in September, it was just revealed Genesis Women’s Shelter will host its 8th annual First Ladies’ Bruncheon on Saturday, September 13, at the Renaissance Dallas Hotel.
With funds benefiting Genesis’ South Oak Cliff program, this year’s event will have Dr. Mia K. Wright as the keynote speaker.
In addition to serving as co-pastor of Houston’s Fountain Of Praise, Dr. Wright is a TEDx speaker and author of “Unthinkable: Do The Unordinary to Experience The Extraordinary,” she has the reputation of “inspiring audiences around the world to break through limiting beliefs and embrace God’s extraordinary possibilities.”
Another highlight of the event will be the presentation of awards for people and organizations “whose work aligns with Genesis’ mission:”
- Abraham Award For Men Of Faith: Rev. Roy Locke of New Mount Gilead Baptist Church
- Esther Award For Leadership In Action: Ashlee Kleinert of The Good Foundation
- Daughters of Zelophehad Awards For Agents Of Change: New Birth Missionary Baptist Church Mission Department
- Abigail Award For Courage And Faith: Dr. Ketra Davenport-King of Life After Advocacy Group
According to Genesis CEO Jan Langbein, “Our First Ladies’ Bruncheon is more than just a beautiful event; it’s a powerful reminder of what’s possible when the faith community comes together in pursuit of justice, healing and hope. We are honored to have Dr. Mia Wright join us as our keynote speaker, and we are deeply moved by the work and passion of this year’s honorees. Their leadership reflects the very heart of our mission.”…
