Garland’s growth spurt continues as construction on key public facilities moves forward, signaling a boon for local services and community amenities. The West Garland Library, along with the new Surf & Swim and Fire Stations 1 and 7, are all under various stages of development, as reported in a recent update from the City of Garland.
The West Garland Library at 3920 W. Walnut St. is on the verge of finishing interior works. Most of the furniture and shelving are in place. Outside, landscaping activities are underway, with planted greenery and parking lot completions hinting at the library’s readiness towards the end of summer.
As for the Surf & Swim located at 440 W. Oates Road, infrastructure developments like completed concrete paving and the assembly of retaining walls mark progress.
