Paxton says most Texas schools – except Plano – must still display Ten Commandments

Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton is reminding school districts that a new state law requiring the Ten Commandments to be displayed in classrooms will still take effect September 1.

Paxton said nearly every district in the state must comply, except for Plano ISD and about a dozen others currently covered by a federal court order.

Those districts are part of an ongoing lawsuit challenging the constitutionality of the law, which critics argue violates the separation of church and state…
