Dallas Police Arrest Twin Brothers in Multi-Agency Auto Theft Investigation

DALLAS, TX — A coordinated investigation involving the Dallas Police Auto Theft Salvage Squad, Southwest and South Central CRT Units, and the North Texas Auto Theft Task Force has led to the arrest of twin brothers accused of stealing and dismantling vehicles across multiple jurisdictions.

On August 28, 2025, officers executed search warrants in the 2700 block of Kenesaw Drive in Dallas and at two locations in Barry, Texas. Four vehicles reported stolen out of Dallas were recovered in Dallas, while three additional vehicles reported stolen in Dallas, De Soto, and Lewisville were located in Barry. Two other vehicles with obscured vehicle identification numbers (VINs) were seized for further investigation.

The suspects, identified as 19-year-old twin brothers Bernado Bustos and Santos Bustos, were found to have stolen vehicles, swapped VINs, and used the cars for parts. Both were arrested and charged with Engaging in Organized Criminal Activity, a first-degree felony, and Theft of Property between $30,000 and $150,000, a third-degree felony…
