Dallas, TX, September 11, 2025: In a horrifying act of violence at an East Dallas motel left 50-year-old Chandra Nagamallaiah dead and his family and community reeling.
Police said Yordanis Cobos-Martinez, 37, has been charged with capital murder in connection with the killing at the Downtown Suites motel on Samuell Boulevard. He was arrested at the scene covered in blood and armed with a machete.
According to an arrest affidavit, a witness told investigators that she and Cobos-Martinez were cleaning a motel room when Nagamallaiah approached and asked Cobos-Martinez not to use a broken washing machine.
