Dallas Police Locate Missing Senior Ponos Senat Safe as Silver Alert Is Canceled

Relief washed through the community as the Texas Department of Public Safety canceled the Silver Alert for Ponos Senat, a 71-year-old Dallas resident who had been reported missing. The cancellation, which indicates Mr. Senat has been found safe, came after the Dallas Police Department had sought the public’s assistance in locating him.

Earlier, concerns were high when Mr. Senat vanished yesterday around 4:30 a.m. in the 9000 block of White Rock Trail. He was believed to be traveling on foot, with his direction unknown. To effectively disseminate information and hopefully to hasten his recovery, the authorities had issued a Silver Alert—a public notification system to broadcast information about missing persons, especially seniors with Alzheimer’s Disease, dementia, or other mental disabilities. According to the Dallas Police Department, Mr. Senat stands at 6 feet tall, weighs around 300 pounds, and features gray hair and brown eyes.
