DART begins rollout of 476 new buses across Dallas metroplex

Dallas Area Rapid Transit unveiled two of 476 new buses that will replace its current fleet on Oct. 1, showcasing the new buses through downtown Dallas.

The first of DART’s new bus fleet is expected to arrive at the end of the year, with 476 buses scheduled to roll in over the next two years. The buses were purchased in February and will begin picking up passengers this fall.

The new fleet includes 76 new, 30-foot buses that can hold 34 passengers and 400 new 40-foot buses that can hold 54 passengers standing and sitting. Along with new, larger vinyl seats and larger walkways, the bus features USB and micro-USB charging ports beneath each seat…
