Two Texas men have been handed significant prison sentences following the tragic fentanyl overdose of a 17-year-old boy, federal officials announced last week. According to a press release from the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Northern District of Texas, Tecose Dchaz Martin, 38, received a 30-year sentence, while 22-year-old Connor Miller was sentenced to just over 12 years behind bars.
Martin and Miller both pleaded guilty to their involvement in the distribution of the lethal drugs, the transaction having taken place in January 2024 on Dallas’ Harry Hines Boulevard. After acquiring the pills, Miller and the unnamed teenager used them at Miller’s home, leading to the teenager’s death. Court documents indicated that the boy would have survived had he not ingested the fentanyl.
Investigative efforts revealed that Miller had contacted Jesse Medina, referred to as “Plug,” to buy the fentanyl. It was later discovered through electronic evidence that Martin, known as “Blues Man,” supplied the fentanyl to Medina. According to court evidence, Martin was a higher-volume trader purchasing thousands of pills for resale, boasting in a message, per the U.S. Attorney’s Office, “We can get rich off blues [fentanyl pills].” At the time of his arrest, authorities found Martin in possession of a substantial quantity of fentanyl pills and firearms…
