Domestic Violence Suspect Arrested by North Texas Fugitive Task Force

The Dallas Police Department’s Domestic Violence Unit is dedicated to bringing justice to victims of crimes committed by those closest to them. October is recognized as Domestic Violence Awareness Month, and Dallas Police Fugitive Unit and the U.S. Marshal’s North Texas Fugitive Task Force (NTFT) are aggressively pursuing wanted fugitives who have victimized their family members and partners. On October 8, 2025, officers in the Fugitive Unit and NTFT arrested 28-year-old Darius Hinton after a domestic violence investigation revealed he had taken a gun from the victim without permission and hit them in the face with it.

Less than a day later, the police had him in custody and off the street. The survivor contacted the NTFT to express their sincere gratitude for putting this dangerous offender behind bars.

“Our Domestic Violence detectives work tirelessly to bring justice to the survivors of these terrible crimes, and the partnership between Dallas PD and the U.S. Marshals means we can get more of these violent offenders off the street to face justice,” said Chief Daniel Comeaux.

Hinton was charged with Theft of a Firearm, a state jail felony, and Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon – Family Violence, a second-degree felony. He was also arrested on outstanding warrants for violation of supervised release…
