A bit more sunshine pulls in to close out the work week. Along with our temperatures, humidity values will continue to nudge up as well along southerly surface winds as we transition into the weekend. It will be a very warm start to the weekend with compressional warming in place until a front crosses through, bringing a slight chance of showers and storms and then a drastic drop in humidity values into Sunday. North Texas will see a 10-15 degree drop in high temperatures to the upper 70s, but the rest of the state will only see a marginal decrease in temperatures.

1. Gov. Abbott deploys Texas National Guard to Austin for ‘No Kings’ protest
Gov. Greg Abbott said on Thursday he will deploy the Texas National Guard to Austin ahead of the “No Kings” protest on Saturday.
Abbott also directed the Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) to deploy personnel and tactical assets to the capital city to “protect Texans and their property” and “maintain law and order.”…
