Texas is getting 4 new Waffle Houses — believe it!

Texans are about to have even more places to satisfy their late-night breakfast cravings, as Waffle House is set to open four new locations across the state in the coming year.

The 24-hour diner chain, famous for its waffles (duh!), hash browns “scattered, smothered and covered,” and round-the-clock comfort food, already operates more than 130 Waffle Houses across Texas. Meanwhile, across the country the chain counts over 2,000 locations in the U.S.

Construction permits and filings show new Waffle House restaurants planned for New Caney (Houston area), Waxahachie (south of Dallas), Liberty Hill (northwest of Austin), and Royse City (northeast of Dallas). Most of these projects are slated to break ground between early and mid-2026, with openings expected by the end of next year.

Waxahachie’s future Waffle House will probably be first, with construction starting right after the new year, and will bring the chain’s signature yellow sign to a busy stretch of Interstate 35 — perfect for late-night travelers and early commuters. The New Caney location at Caney Crossing shopping center will likely start construction in April and be done by September…
