DALLAS, TX — A Texas hotel receptionist is facing backlash after a viral TikTok video showed her threatening to call the police on a Black woman who had stopped by to visit a friend staying at the property. The woman, who recorded the aftermath of the incident, accused the worker of racial profiling and using law enforcement as a weapon against her — despite her calm demeanor and clear explanation of her intentions.
The Encounter at the Texas Hotel
According to the visitor, she went to the front desk to let staff know she was dropping off a package for her friend, who was staying at the hotel. The receptionist denied her request to charge anything to the room, so the woman called her friend to make new arrangements instead.
When she returned to the counter to clarify that she only planned to meet her friend near the elevator to hand off the box, the receptionist suddenly threatened to call the police.
“All I said was that I was going to give the package to my friend,” the woman explained. “Next thing I know, she’s talking about calling the cops.”…
