Two Women Sentenced for Deadly Facebook Marketplace Robbery in Dallas

DALLAS, TX – The Dallas County District Attorney’s Office announced that two women have been sentenced in connection with the fatal shooting of 66-year-old Ahmad Alkhalaf during a Facebook Marketplace robbery in November 2024.

According to court records, Alkhalaf, of Sachse, had advertised an iPhone 15 for sale on Facebook Marketplace. He was contacted by 19-year-old Annika Aleman, who arranged to meet him at a Valero gas station located off I-35 and South Marsalis Avenue in Oak Cliff. Aleman did not go to the meeting but sent her co-defendant, 20-year-old Amaya Medrano, in her place.

When Alkhalaf arrived at the gas station, Medrano stole the phone from him. Alkhalaf briefly chased after Medrano, who then shot him, killing him at the scene. Following the shooting, Aleman posted the stolen phone for sale on Facebook Marketplace and helped dispose of the murder weapon…
