Crash on Cooper Street injures passenger, causes UTA power outage

A passenger was injured and transported to the hospital following a crash Thursday, which caused a power outage at UTA due to a damaged utility pole, according to the Arlington Police Department.

At around 1:10 p.m., officers responded to a crash at South Cooper Street, north of Park Row Drive, said Tim Ciesco, the department’s media relations coordinator, in an email.

When officers arrived on the scene, they located a car with rear-end damage near Dutch Bros Coffee on the northbound side and an SUV that had collided with a utility pole near the Texaco station on the Southbound side.

The injured passenger was in the SUV, Ciesco said. There were no other reports of injury…
