Dallas Man Sentenced to 25 Years After Breaking Into Bait Car, Found With Loaded Firearm

A Dallas County jury has convicted 62-year-old Alfred Bernard Richardson of Unlawful Possession of a Firearm by a Felon and Burglary of a Vehicle with two prior convictions. Richardson was found guilty on October 28, 2025, and sentenced to 25 years in prison.

The case was prosecuted by Michael Chang, with William Davidson serving as second chair. DA Investigator Bonita Morgan assisted, and the Dallas Police Department led the investigation.

The charges stem from a December 2032 incident in which DPD deployed a bait car in the parking lot of the Dallas World Aquarium following a series of vehicle burglaries. Richardson broke into the bait car, stole several items, and fled in a tan Buick SUV. Officers stopped him about 10 minutes later, recovering the stolen property from his vehicle and nearby.
