Joe V’s Smart Shop is H-E-B’s “innovative price format” sister concept that already has two stores in Dallas. This grocer is a slimmed-down version of H-E-B. But when it comes to staples, it’s a fantastic option. Additionally, the store offers a wide selection of H-E-B-branded items.
What to Expect at Joe V’s
Joe V’s, a Houston-born concept, is about half the size of a typical H-E-B store, which might be a bonus for some. Joe V’s doesn’t have cooking demonstrations, a barbecue restaurant, or a large floral department. However, they do offer fresh tortillas and robust produce and meat departments. There are premade meals and sushi. It’s about the size of a normal grocery store, slimmed down in comparison to H-E-B, but not sparse in any way.
The Dallas Morning News got a sneak peek at the new store in Irving and reports it will cater to customers in the neighborhood, including South Asian and Latino populations. “Shoppers will find 20-pound bags of rice and corn masa. They’ll see various cheeses along with okra, dragon fruit, peppers and ghee,” writes Brian Womack.
