COPPELL, Texas — FedEx will “discontinue operation” of a facility in North Texas next year, leading to hundreds of employees being laid off, according to a WARN letter filed with the state.
A letter filed with the Texas Workforce Commission shows 856 employees at the FedEx Supply Chain Logistics & Electronics facility in the 800 block of West Sandy Lake Road in Coppell will be impacted and will be laid off in phases starting in January.
“This action is necessitated solely by our customer’s decision to transition its business to a new location that will be managed by a new third-party logistics provider,” the letter states. “The discontinuance of FedEx Supply Chain Logistics & Electronics, Inc.’s operation of the Coppell Facility is expected to be permanent and is expected to be finalized by April 29, 2026.”…
