Downtown Dallas workers see some improvement 6 months after new anti-crime initiative takes effect

DALLAS — Dallas police data shows violent incidents in Downtown Dallas have decreased so far this year compared to 2024, six months after the launch of a public-private program aimed at curbing homelessness and crime in the core of the city.

Jennifer Cornejo, who has worked for five years at Kokopelli Sweets in Downtown Dallas, said the increased police presence has made a noticeable difference in her daily operations.
