The Plano Police Department and the U.S. Secret Service have partnered to combat financial fraud, with recent operations yielding significant results, according to a Dec. 2 Facebook post from the Plano Police.
The Financial Crimes Unit used newly acquired Skim Scan and Skim Swipe detection tools, funded by the Secret Service, to uncover hidden skimming devices at ATMs and point-of-sale terminals across the city. Two overlay skimmers were found at a convenience store near Dallas Parkway and Plano Parkway — the first of their kind discovered in Plano.
