Janet Jackson lights up the Cotton Bowl to celebrate 100 years of the United Way

(The Dallas Examiner) – Janet Jackson, multi-award-winning singer, actress and philanthropist, was the featured artist for the United Way of Metropolitan Dallas centennial celebration held Nov. 15 at the Cotton Bowl stage. United Way has served communities across the city, providing free meals to those in need, funding to local nonprofit organizations, access to education and many other services and resources.

“This year marked our centennial anniversary, a celebration of 100 years of progress driven by generations of North Texans. Our centennial year honored the past while laying the foundation for the future. The spirit of Dallas United is at the heart of our work,” CEO Jennifer Sampson wrote in the organization’s 2025 impact report.

The celebration included a Taste United Food and Wine Festival and a patron dinner, preceding the concert featuring Jackson and country music superstar Blake Shelton.
