CBP Seizes Counterfeit Watches, Designer Hats Valued At Over $18.6 Million Had They Been Genuine

U.S. Customs and Border Protection announced the recent seizure of three shipments containing counterfeit luxury watches and designer hats that would have been worth more than $18 million if genuine.

CBP officers in Louisville, Ky., intercepted the first two shipments, both from Hong Kong, on Dec. 5. In the first package, bound for a residence on Staten Island, N.Y., officers discovered 400 Cartier watches, 26 Moncler hats, and 30 Chrome Hearts hats. In the second package, bound for an address in Irving, Texas, officers discovered eight Cartier and 13 Audemars Piguet watches.

On Dec. 8, officers intercepted the third package, sent from Taiwan and bound for an address in Houston. Inside, inspectors found 80 Rolex Cosmograph watches and 80 Rolex Day Date watches…
