A 44-year-old man was arrested early Monday after opening fire on police officers responding to a reported family disturbance, authorities say.
Cedar Hill police were called to a home on Sleepy Hollow Drive about 1:51 a.m. after an adult man dialed 911 to report that people were trying to harm his family and asked for immediate assistance. While officers were on the way, dispatchers received a second 911 call from an adult woman at the same address and heard what was believed to be a gunshot, police said.
When officers arrived, they were met with gunfire from inside the residence, police said. Two officers returned fire. Officers were able to safely evacuate two adult women from the home. One of the women had been shot before officers arrived…
