GRAND PRAIRIE, Texas — A North Texas man is dead from a self-inflicted gunshot wound after he allegedly shot his son in the face and then killed the son’s mother during a standoff with police, officials said.
Officers first responded to reports of a family violence shooting at around 10 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 28, in a residence on the 1600 block of Avenue B in Grand Prairie, the Grand Prairie Police Department said in a press release.
Investigators later determined that a 62-year-old man allegedly shot his adult son in the face after the son attempted to intervene in an argument between the suspect and the victim’s mother, the release stated.
