Salvation Army says “need continues to grow” in Texas

The Salvation Army says stats from 2025 show more people in North Texas need help. The organization says it saw a 12% increase in demand last year.

The Salvation Army says housing insecurity drove demand. The non-profit says it provided 264,592 nights of shelter last year, a 30% increase from 2025. The organization says an increasing percentage of people considered housing insecure are seniors and veterans.

At the organization’s “Doing the Most Good” luncheon in Dallas last year, the Salvation Army said it was preparing to help more people with its $212.7 million campaign “to end inter-generational poverty and homelessenss.” The Salvation Army is building a 21 acre campus in Dallas to serve as a hub, providing shelter and services to help people become self-sufficient…
