DALLAS — First responders in Dallas were extremely busy on New Year’s Eve and the early morning hours of New Year’s Day, responding to over 1,000 calls related to fireworks or celebratory gunfire.
Dallas Police Chief Daniel Comeaux said it was “encouraging to see so many residents and visitors come out to celebrate responsibly,” but added “it was also clear that the volume of vehicle congestion on our roadways created challenges, particularly in areas where emergency vehicles must be able to move quickly and without obstruction.”
