Texas barbecue heads to the skies with American Airlines’ new in-flight menu

First-class passengers on American Airlines flights from Dallas to New York will soon receive more than just extra legroom; they’ll also enjoy a plate of smoky Texas barbecue, straight from one of the state’s most celebrated pits.

Beginning in February, American is teaming up with Deep Ellum’s Pecan Lodge to bring its award-winning brisket and sausage to the skies. The barbecue, served with classic Southern sides, will be available on select flights from Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport (DFW) to LaGuardia (LGA) and John F. Kennedy International Airport (JFK).
