Dallas police officers terminated following disciplinary hearings

DALLAS, Texas — Two Dallas police officers were terminated following disciplinary hearings on January 13, 2026, according to a press release from the department. The officers were dismissed for separate incidents involving misconduct and fitness for duty.

Police Officer Cesar Rangel, badge number 12461, of the Northeast Division, was terminated after being arrested for indecent assault, a Class A misdemeanor, and for using city equipment for non-departmental purposes. Officer Rangel had been with the department since September 2022.
