Search underway for Honduran national wanted for injuring ICE agents in North Texas

LEWISVILLE, Texas (KETK) — Authorities are searching for a 28-year-old Honduran national after federal agencies allege he violently crashed into law enforcement vehicles during a traffic stop in December, injuring ICE agents.

U.S. Attorney Jay R. Combs, alongside representatives from ICE and the FBI’s Dallas office, provided details about the incident in an indictment against Jerson Lopez-Sanchez, who is wanted on three assault charges related to federal immigration agents.

U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents initiated a traffic stop on a vehicle owned by Lopez-Sanchez on Dec. 1, 2025, at approximately 8:04 a.m. in Lewisville, located northwest of Dallas. Federal agents were positioned in three separate vehicles, all of which were wearing marked vests. The suspect is accused of reversing and colliding with the federal agent’s vehicle behind him while a federal agent had one leg outside the vehicle, injuring the agent.
