DeSoto police use drone to apprehend burglary suspect

DESOTO, Texas — A 27-year-old DeSoto resident was arrested early Tuesday morning after police used a drone to locate him following multiple vehicle burglaries. Broderick Leon Slaughter was taken into custody around 3:30 a.m. in connection with incidents on Estate Lane.

A resident alerted police after spotting a man dressed in black, wearing a ski mask, and carrying a flashlight on their home surveillance camera, according to the DeSoto Police Department. Officers quickly responded, contained the area, and deployed a drone, which located Slaughter in the backyard of a residence on Worthington Drive.
