City leaders say they have activated contract enforcement, sending a certified notice to the hauler while staff reviews service data to see what penalties might apply.
City staff reported that numerous streets did not get picked up after the Christmas holiday and that crews have been working to catch up. Republic representatives told local officials that unusually heavy volumes of bagged leaves, paired with holiday schedules and limited landfill hours, kept some routes from finishing on time and apologized for the disruption, according to Bedford.
