Euless Trash Piles Have City Poised To Sock Republic Services With Fines

Euless trash troubles could soon cost Republic Services, after Christmas-week misses left some blocks lined with bagged leaves and household garbage. City leaders say they have activated contract enforcement, sending a certified notice to the hauler while staff reviews service data to see what penalties might apply.

City staff reported that numerous streets did not get picked up after the Christmas holiday and that crews have been working to catch up. Republic representatives told local officials that unusually heavy volumes of bagged leaves, paired with holiday schedules and limited landfill hours, kept some routes from finishing on time and apologized for the disruption, according to Bedford.
