Parts of Fort Worth are coated in 2 to 3 inches of ice, sleet and snow Sunday morning, with bitter cold temperatures in the low teens. The final waves of snow will move across North Texas through the morning before tapering off — and ushering in even colder temperatures.
The below-freezing temperatures are still here to stay through Tuesday, meaning travel will be treacherous at least into midweek. The snow on the ground Sunday morning is hard and compact — bad for making snowmen, and even worse for how long it might take to thaw.
Thousands have lost power, road conditions are poor and most school districts are now deciding whether they will be open on Tuesday.
